Hathni Mata Waterfall is situated 35 Km from Pavagadh. At the top of the hill at Pavagadh, about 760 meters above sea level, lies a magnificent temple dedicated to the Mother Goddess Kali. About 80 kilometers from Vadodara, near Jambughoda, lie the Hathni Mata waterfalls. The location is named Hathni, which in the local language means “female elephant,” since it has a cave where a waterfall emerges that contains a rock that resembles a young elephant. The main temple sits at the base of the waterfall, and there is a little Hanuman idol inside the cave.

About Hathni Mata Waterfall :

Located about 80 KM away from Vadodara city, the Hathni Mata Waterfall has a height of 100 meters and is named a part of the mountain that reaches the shape of a seated elephant.

A temple dedicated to Goddess Kali is built on top of the hill and is a popular place of worship for devotees. People come here to take a walk amidst the natural landscape of Poyali and for many, this place is the ideal weekend spot to spend some time with family and friends.
The entire surrounding area is covered with dense green plants and beautiful flowers. Hiking tours are available that take you to the top of the waterfall which has a small pond and the wildlife and birds that inhabit the area, complete the atmosphere. The fall is also a loved spot for photography.

The historical value of the whole area is hard to ignore and whether you love myth or not, the sheer beauty of the area is something that simply should not be missed!

The Jambughoda Sanctuary that is located nearby is noted in the Mahabharata and is worth a visit while the Jhud Hanuman Temple is believed to be the place where the Pandavas placed a statue of Lord Hanuman for worship. A small flour-mill located close to the temple is believed to be used by the Pandavas too.
